18th century Italian fragment with chalcedony rosettes on a hand-painted gallery 1-inch canvas. The canvas is distressed with gold powders used by restorers in Italy in the 18th and 19th centuries and are no longer available. The powders coordinate with the chalcedony rosettes and fragment piece. The 18th century fragment is originally from Tuscany.

The Italian artifact and chalcedony rosettes are mounted onto the gold powdered canvas and put together to create a 3D sculptural wall piece. The piece appears to have evolved together over time - Interpreting the past to create historical yet contemporary work entirely original, evolving in its own right.
