A remarkable, couture level piece by Donald Brooks. The workmanship and fabrication of this gown is an absolute dream! The exterior is a rich and intricate combination of black silk net over a nude silk base to suggest that the wearer is bare underneath. Onto the lace and hand stitched into place are dense, thick panels of glossy black sequins. The sequins against the net and nude interior gives the dress a stunning contrast and it shimmers in the light when you move. The bodice dips into a V with a weighted bit hand sewn into place so that it sits perfectly. Each sleeve widens as it nears their cuff so you get a slight puffed effect. They are left unlined. The hem is finished with a wide band of silk satin and this is picked up at the detailing on the waist. Really a beauty and a rare piece. Excellent condition.

Has in inner attached, fully constructed dress in a nude silk crepe. The lace and sequin exterior is also backed in a nude silk net. It closes with fabric covered snaps under the back waist and silk covered buttons down the back. Hook & eye at the back waist banding. Each sleeve closes with silk covered snaps. Lots of hand work was put into this gown and it is really wonderful.
