Lift the height of your RA2 Suction Cup Steady Rest to match the height of the RA2 chuck with the tilt mechanism. Now you will not be required to remove the tilt mechanism to use the suction cup steady rest. The axis of rotation will be the same! 

You will also gain the advantage of more height for larger diameter work pieces. 

It is critical that you install the parts in the orientation as shown in the pictures on the RA2 base! It may be difficult to tell without measuring, but the RA2 base is not symmetrical. Therefore, in order for the axis of rotation to line up correctly, you need to install the components as shown!

Note that the part you receive will be BLACK. The colors in the pictures are used to make the items more visible in the listing photos.
