This 1:72 diecast model of Panavia Tornado F.3 ZG757 represents the final aircraft type flown by No. 43 Squadron RAF “The Fighting Cocks”, one of the RAF’s most distinguished fighter units. Formed in 1916 as part of the Royal Flying Corps, 43 Squadron served with distinction through both world wars and produced numerous fighter aces. Its final role was as an air defence unit flying the Tornado F.3, operating out of Scotland to defend UK airspace and deployed with 1435 Flight to the Falkland Islands. The squadron also participated in Operation Southern Watch, helping to enforce the no-fly zone over Iraq after the Gulf War.
Tornado ZG757 was painted in a striking gloss black anniversary scheme in 2006 to mark the 90th anniversary of the squadron. It carried this commemorative livery in several forms throughout the year, making it one of the most visually iconic RAF Tornados ever flown. No. 43 Squadron was officially disbanded in July 2009, ending nearly a century of service.
This model comes prebuilt and includes display accessories and a stand, making it a standout addition for collectors of modern RAF jets and special commemorative liveries.
