Vandal Wines is a winemaking collaboration between three friends, all professional winemakers for three well-known brands, in Marlborough. Exploring the world of natural and low-intervention wines, they have made a series of low-intervention wines that draw on techniques not often employed in their day job. 

'Militia' is a 'field blend', which is to say the varieties were all harvested and fermented together, with the end result being a wine which represents the whole 'field' (vineyard). In terms of style, this wine drinks like an orange wine, where the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling where fermented on their skins prior to being pressed (like a red wine). Add in the red varieties Pinot Noir, Syrah & Tempranillo, and you have a beautiful juxtapose of white wine acidity, fine orange wine tannins and juicy red wine fruit flavour. Rose gold-copper in colour, this wine is a delicious blend worth drinking on its own or enjoying with spicy dishes. Enjoy!
