The precision of a mechanical watch, which is composed of 200 to 300 parts, greatly affects the accuracy of the movement. In order to maximize the machining accuracy of the parts, we use the advanced technology of MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) in the manufacture of the escapement.

However, simply assembling any parts as they are will not achieve the precision that is appropriate for a Grand Seiko.

It is only through the manual labor of craftsmen with a thorough knowledge of the mechanics of mechanical watches and superior skills, who search for the optimum combination of parts and adjust them in 1/100 mm increments, and then carefully assemble them that the 9S Mechanical begins to tick with the precision that only a 9S Mechanical can achieve.
