The Victron Skylla-TG 24/100 (1+1) is a high-power three-phase battery charger designed for 24V battery systems requiring up to 100A of charge current. Built for demanding industrial, marine and off-grid applications, it accepts a 3-phase 400V AC input and is suited to environments where reliability and continuous duty operation are essential.
The Skylla-TG range uses a transformer-based design rather than a switched-mode topology. This approach provides inherent galvanic isolation and a high degree of tolerance to poor or unstable input power quality, which is a practical advantage in generator-fed or industrial grid environments. The 3-phase 400V input distributes load evenly across phases, reducing peak current draw and making the unit well suited to installations where single-phase loading is restricted.
The (1+1) designation indicates that the unit contains two independent charger modules sharing a single enclosure. This allows the charger to operate in a parallel configuration for increased output, or in a redundant configuration where one module continues to charge the battery if the other develops a fault. For critical systems such as telecom backup, marine propulsion support or industrial UPS applications, this built-in redundancy is a meaningful operational advantage.
At 100A output into a 24V bank, this charger is appropriate for large battery installations including forklift batteries, large lead-acid standby banks and substantial off-grid storage systems. The 24V nominal voltage is common in heavy commercial and marine DC systems where higher current capacity is required compared to 48V equivalents.
This charger must be installed by a qualified electrician. Connection to a 3-phase 400V supply requires compliance with current UK and EU wiring regulations, and appropriate upstream protection must be fitted. The unit weighs 23.45kg and requires secure, ventilated mounting in a fixed installation. Battery connections should be made in accordance with the battery manufacturer's specifications and relevant DC wiring standards. Do not install in locations exposed to water ingress unless the enclosure rating has been confirmed as suitable for the environment.
