Unusual Antique 15K Gold Intaglio Signet Ring

A superb, rare 19th century intaglio signet ring. The engraved agate intaglio is likely depicting Don Quixote, also spelled Don Quijote, the 17th-century Spanish literary character and the protagonist of the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes.

The agate is an orange colour with banded red streaks running diagonally across the face of the stone. It is bezel set in a smooth signet mount decorated with horizontal grooves towards the back of the ring.
